Petition to abolish TSA

 

全港性系統評估(TSA)著意測試小學至初中生中、英、數三科的基本能力,卻引來學校過分操練學生的指責,甚至有公開聯署要求取消,如何是好?

 

More than 40,000 parents and teachers placed a full-page advertisement in a Chinese-language newspaper, urging education minister Eddie Ng to “show the courage” to cancel a city-wide exam for Primary Three pupils.

The advertisement said the (The Territory-wide System Assessment) TSA exams had finished their “historical mission” and should be scrapped.                                            [SCMP]

The tests were launched in 2004 to assess abilities in Chinese, English and maths to help the bureau keep track of pupils’ progress and schools’ academic standards.

40,000 名家長、老師和社工在報章刊登聲明,指不少學生因TSA操練吃盡苦頭:

 

“Junior primary pupils are tormented. We urge the Education Bureau to show an educator’s courage to free pupils from an ‘unnecessary’ exam system ... to give them back a happy childhood.”
