Q: Why has where creativity comes from mystified us for centuries? What is creativity?
“Where creativity comes from has mystified us for centuries. Throughout history, we believe creativity was rare and seen in a small elite: professional painters, poets, performers, and musicians. For a long time, creativity was an enigma, beyond the reach of science. But today, we know that it takes creativity to solve problems. It's an aspect of human intelligence. We find creativity in architecture, science, engineering, and even in nature. Creativity is everywhere!”
mystify (verb 動詞)
= baffle 困惑
例子:Where creativity comes from has mystified us for centuries.
mystifying (adjecitve 形容詞) // be mystified = feeling baffled
= puzzling
例子:Where creativity comes from has been a mystifying question.
enigma (noun 名詞)
= mystery
例子:For a long time, creativity was an enigma, beyond the reach of science.

spout (verb 動詞) [disapprove sbd of saying sth you don’t agree with]
例子:He used his column to spout ill-informed criticism of the celebrity.

to spout sth. out . 嘮叨某事
up the spout 完全破壞 = ruined (If you say that something is up the spout, you mean that it is wrong or it is no longer working.)
例子:If you only take a sample then all the statistics are up the spout.
up the spout 懷孕 = pregnant (Scottish slang)
例子:I've taken like three pregnancy tests and I’m sure I’m up the spout.
