泰國曼谷局勢持續動蕩，香港也發出了黑色旅遊警示，事出有因：

 

More than 1,000 protesters briefly stormed into army headquarters in an attempt to convince the military to join their efforts to topple the government of Prime Minister (Yingluck Shinawatra).

= enter or leave it quickly and noisily because you are angry

 

例子：Tom stormed out of the room after a heated argument with his mother.

 

rock 撼動

(verb 動詞)

 

Rock 用作名詞指「石頭」，動詞卻指「撼動」，英語更有 don’t rock the boat 之說，意思是叫人別搞破壞。試想大家同坐一條船，如果有人故意讓船搖擺不定，你可以喝斥：Don’t rock the boat!

 

= shock the place/ make them feel less secure (journalism)

 

例子：Lady Gaga rocked the world with outrageous costumes.

 

besiege 圍攻

= surround

 

讀音為[bi-s'i:ge]。

 

例子：Opposition leaders called for supporters to besiege the prime minister's office.

(verb 動詞, passive 被動式)

 

例子：He was besieged by the press and the public.

the surroundings 四周環境

(noun 名詞)

 

當表示「四周環境」時，the 和 surrounding 後的 s 不可少！
