Teaching ignorance

蘇格拉底說過:「我只知自己一無所知。」

有美國學者主張開設「無知入門」科,讓學生學習無知,原因是什麼?

In the mid-1980s, a university professor proposed teaching a class entitled “Introduction to Medical and Other Ignorance.” Her idea was not well received; an official told her he would rather resign than support a class on ignorance.                                               [摘自The New York Times]

The resulting state of uncertainty, psychologists have shown, intensifies our emotions: not only exhilaration and surprise, but also confusion and frustration. The borderland between known and unknown is also where we strive against our preconceptions to acknowledge and investigate anomalous data.
