由rape衍生的字詞：

Offence是英式串法，美式英語多以“s”代“c”，串成offense，都指罪行。與offence有關的詞語其實也不少，譬如：

 

offend 犯案

例子：Many of the young men here are likely to offend again.

 

offensive 冒犯的

例子：I found his remarks deeply offensive. 

 

offender 犯案者

下列是新聞報道常見的犯案者，英文都用到offender一字：

► voyeur/peeping Tom 偷窺狂

稱偷窺者為peeping Tom，可能對芸芸叫Tom的朋友們不公平，但約定俗成，把偷窺狂都叫 peeping Tom，情況有如我們說「阿茂阿壽」或者「陳大文」一樣，並沒針對何人的意思啊！

speak out 挺身而出

 

例子：Many female victims are afraid to speak out and their cases are hidden. The reported number is only the tip of the iceberg(冰山一角).

 

zero-tolerance 零容忍

 

例子：The government will continue its zero-tolerance attitude on sexual offences.

 

說起性罪行，Crystal 和 Danny不約而同表示，大家都該互相守望，採取「零容忍」的態度，讓所有人免於性暴力的侵害。Tolerance是名詞，解「容忍」，也可變化為形容詞 tolerant 及動詞 tolerate。
