The survey showed 33 per cent of primary-school pupils, aged six to 12, could not put a name to their parents’ profession. Only 14 per cent knew how much it costs to run a household while just 38 per cent have any insight into the cost of their own education and extracurricular activities.
1. put a name to (someone or something) 知道(或記住)... 的名稱 /叫出…的名字

2. have insight (n.) into = have a deep understanding of sth 洞悉

insightful (adj.) 富有洞察力的

Less than a third (31 per cent) keep track of their spending, virtually none of them has a clue about household expenditure and only a fifth are aware they have a bank account.
3. virtually (adv.) = almost
e.g. It would have been virtually impossible to get all the information.
Virtual = 虛擬的
e.g. He can communicate with people in the virtual world very well, but not the real world.
4. a clue 線索 / 想法
I don’t have a clue (about sth.) (對某事物)一無所知 = I don’t know.
e.g. He doesn't have a clue about parenting. 她對養兒育女一竅不通

The survey results suggest most parents are unaware of their offspring’s lack of financial nous, believing they have done a great job of teaching them about money.
5. nous [as in mouse] 智力; 常識 = intelligence / common sense

e.g. He is a leader of great insight. 洞察力 (This sentence is saying that the leader has an impressive ability to understand things; this is a general insight.)
e.g. The song provides us with insights into Hong Kong people’s life. (Here each insight is a fresh understanding of something specific, so you can have more than one of them)
in sight (prep. + n.) = Within one's range of vision
e.g. The sailboat was still in sight on the horizon.
