達賴喇嘛對人事的來去、時光的流逝都很豁達,因為我們怎樣過日子更為重要。中間提到 “an old day passes”,pass用作動詞除指「過去」,還有好幾個意思;另外,人們常混淆 pass 和 past 的分別,下面跟你一一拆解!

 

pass 過、傳遞、合格

(verb 動詞)

 

例子:He passed through the corridor to a small room.

例子:He passed me the salt.

例子:He passed the driving test.

 

pass 合格、許可證

(noun 名詞)

 

例子:You will need at least three passes to get onto the course.

例子:The guard checked our passes before allowing us to enter.
