Nature is relentless and unchangeable, and it is indifferent as to whether its hidden reasons and actions are understandable to man or not.

三百多年前,意大利物理學家、數學家、天文學家及哲學家伽利略說:「自然強橫不息、不能改變,而且毫不在乎人類是否明白她背後的原理與活動。」他是科學革命的重要人物,支持哥白尼的「日心說」,致力改良望遠鏡和及天文觀測技術,成就斐然。

 

今天人類對大自然的理解多了,敬畏之心愈來愈小,是福?是禍?當我們感覺可以脫離自然,獨立生活,對環境變化漠不關心,最後付上代價的,會是誰呢?
