Edmund Burke，18世紀愛爾蘭政治家、作家、演說家、政治理論家和哲學家，著有《論崇高與美麗概念起源的哲學探究》、《對法國大革命的反思》等書。

 

reflect

(verb 動詞)

 

1. 深思，考慮，認真思考（尤指可能性或意見）

例子：The manager demanded time to reflect (on what to do).

經理要求給他一些時間好好想一想（怎麽辦）。

 

2. 顯示；反映；表達

例子：The statistics reflect a change in people's spending habits.

這些統計資料顯示出人們的消費習慣發生了變化。

 

digest

(verb 動詞)

 

1. （使）消化

例子：I find that I don't digest meat easily.  我發現自己不容易消化肉食。

 

2. 理解，吸收（資訊）

例子：This chapter is so difficult to digest, I shall have to read it again later.

這一章不容易理解消化，稍後我還得再看一遍。
